Went snowboarding for the first time since 2013 (apparently). That was 3 years ago. Dang. But I guess it’s kinda like riding a bike. Just gotta get back on a bit, and then it comes back? Going on MLK day meant it was holiday rates, so lift tickets + rental came out to $120 at Snow Summit up in Big Bear. I also forgot that it was like 2+ hrs to get up to Big Bear, but to avoid the crowds at Mt. High, I think it’s worth it. Also, I’m not as big of a fan of some of the runs at Mt. High and Bear Mountain, so this works out the best methinks.

Day started with leaving the house at 6.30am. Got up there by 8.30am. But parking at the secondary lot, buying tickets for lift/rental, and picking up boots/boards means we didn’t really hit the slopes til closer to 11am. Laaaaame. And on the day, I only got 6 runs in, 3 before lunch and 3 after. The combination of not quite being in shape/used to physical activity, landing on my ass more than a couple times, and legs being tired (really?) meant that the day was cut short.

$12 lunch.

Pretending to be cool on the slopes.

How cool I really am.

And then a video of the full run (#4) that includes that wipeout from above.

All pictures/videos taken off my HTC RE that I got for like $30. Which is working out as a fun toy/video device for various situations. Bc it’s also waterproof and usable as an “action camera” without paying a couple hundred dollars in the form of a GoPro.
